Transcription Services

We support Victorian government and non-government schools by transcribing student learning materials into accessible formats including braille, electronic text (etext), audio and large print. Transcribed materials are produced and provided at no cost for eligible students in all school sectors.

Classroom teachers, visiting teachers and education support staff can submit transcription requests on behalf of eligible students. Students can also submit transcription requests directly to us.

Requests can include textbooks, novels, worksheets, tests, picture books, sheet music and more.

Our Team

We have a team of skilled transcription specialists, with many years of expertise in producing high-quality learning materials in a range of alternative formats.

Copyright Exemptions

Following changes to the law in 2017, accessible versions of copyright material are able to be created and supplied to persons with a disability, if they would otherwise have difficulty reading, viewing, hearing or comprehending the material.

Our transcription of student learning materials is covered by exemptions outlined in Section 113E and 113F of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
